The construction bids are finally in! - April 9, 2009

The building team is working in conjunction with the Leadership Council to analyze the numbers and develop a plan for moving forward with construction as soon as possible. The building team met with three contractors on April 3 to negotiate a plan for phasing the construction. Unfortunately, I cannot tell you the bid prices at this time because we are still negotiating and selecting a contractor. I can say, however, that the numbers are both encouraging and challenging. Encouraging because the prices are lower than our original estimates but challenging because they are higher than the cash that we currently have on hand.

Many of you have been giving to the Chapter Two building fund for some time now. I want to thank you for your sacrifice and ask you to continue to be faithful in giving towards this project. Others of you gave when we first started the campaign but you've gotten behind or stopped giving for some reason. If that's your situation, I want to ask you to consider getting back on board if possible. Don't worry about what you've missed, just pick back up today and begin contributing what you can to Chapter Two. And then there are still others who are new to Seneca Creek and you're not sure what Chapter Two is all about. If that's your situation, then in the coming weeks we'll have opportunities for you to find out more about the project and consider getting on board as well. This project is within our reach but it's going to require sacrifice and faith. So, let's give God our best and forge ahead together. Stay tuned for more information to come shortly.
